Pima Schools value the mental and emotional well-being of all of our students.
Because of this, we have two certified school counselors in our district, and we pride ourselves on meeting the social/emotional needs of students through short-term individual sessions, referrals for long-term counseling, small groups, and whole group instruction.
To meet the needs of the whole group, we provide "advisory lessons" monthly to each classroom K-12. These lessons focus on topics such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, calming strategies, anti-bullying, feelings identification, test-taking strategies, growth mindset, and many others.
We teach calming strategies in school and in sessions, but there are so many more that are available virtually. Click on the "Virtual Calming Room" to explore all sorts of tools.
Did you know the counselors are also here for the teachers?
We are here to listen to our teachers and staff, and we like to provide them with the experience of our Woot Woot Wagon! It's a good time at Pima Schools when the Woot Woot Wagon is coming by!

If you, or someone you know, are dealing with suicide ideation, don't hesitate to reach out. Below is a link to a nation-wide lifeline, and the local hospital, Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center is also a safe space to go. The local Crisis Response Line is also an option. Their number is 1-866-495-6735.
Bullying is a world-wide problem, and social media has only added to this problem. If you, or someone you know, is being bullied, please tell a trusted adult right away. Make sure the school is aware as well. Many times bullying is quiet and not obvious, so we need people to speak up in order to get it under control. Below is a link to more information.
