The Safford Library has recently launched a new program for kids with special needs and their families. It’s still at the beginning stages and the library staff are looking for families to attend. Parent support, networking, and hands-on activities for the kids is currently the main focus. The program will move to focusing on the Spot of Emotions books and curriculum in the coming months, with families taking home a book corresponding to each emotion as it is taught each month. The library wants to provide resources to families as well, and hope that over time the families attending will drive the content that is presented and discussed each session.
