The light poles are up! If you see a glow on the field this evening, it is just the installer aiming the lights. Games on the field aren't scheduled until August 2025!

New Pima High School Construction Project Update:
Today the first wall went up on the campus. We are a third of the way through our construction timeline. The school is scheduled to open in less than a year, so we are very excited to see the first signs of a building. This is the northern half of the East wall of the Performing Arts practice building. Because the building is too tall to use the modular construction method being used for the classroom buildings, it is being built onsite using standard construction techniques.
The metal buildings for the Gym/Cafeteria complex were delayed after the factory was hit by Hurricane Beryl. They will be here soon.
Keep your eyes peeled. One of these days there's going to suddenly be 67,000 sf of buildings. It will seem like they just fell out of the sky.
FYI...
Don't be confused when you see the Football Stadium lights on this Friday. Our PHS ROUGHRIDER Football team will be playing in Globe while Safford hosts Payson here in Pima.
Pima High School is currently accepting applications for a Head Spiritline coach for the 24-25 season. This position will be open until filled.
We are so excited for our students who were able to make growth on state testing. Our students work hard all year, and that test was a positive reflection of their efforts. Thanks to Turkey Trot we were able to award each of those who achieved this status with an awesome "Roughrider Champion" hoodie. Last year's 8th graders got theirs at the high school assembly and we were able to give them out to this year's 8th graders at the PJHS Assembly! It's Great to be a Roughrider! #TheRiderWay
It's that time of year!
Kym Gifford, with Keyhole Properties, graciously donated two handfuls of Walmart gift cards to PES teachers for school supplies. Our staff is so thankful and excited to go shopping!
Early this morning we had the next big concrete pour at the new PHS Campus. In the picture you can see the Speedway lit up across the highway. The pump is laying in the area that will be the weight room (to the right) and the culinary classroom and lab space (to the left). Immediately past that is the cafeteria that was recently poured and faintly visible beyond that is the floor of the new gym. We love to see the progress. Next will be the floors of the CTE Building (already formed) and the Performing Arts Building.

Pima High School students Kamea Nelson and Maigan Ferrin, both incoming seniors, recently made their mark on the national stage by competing in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference held in Orlando, Florida from June 30 to July 2, 2024. Demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication, Nelson and Ferrin secured 5th place out of 114 teams in the highly competitive Sales Presentation event. Kamea and Maigan's achievement is particularly notable given the intense competition and the high level of talent present at the event.
Prior to their success at the national level, both students excelled at the Regional and State Conferences, which earned them the opportunity to represent Pima High School and the state of Arizona on the national stage. Their journey to the top 5 in the nation reflects their hard work, dedication, and passion for business leadership. Congratulations to Kamea Nelson and Maigan Ferrin on their outstanding achievement!
High School Yearbook update: yearbooks are now scheduled to be delivered on July 11. Once they are actually delivered a message will be sent out to those who ordered them. IF there are any extra, they will be on sold first come basis (we don't anticipate that where will be any).
