Thank you for your support and patience as we undertook a campus-wide lockdown at Pima Schools today. The lockdown was initiated after a student reported that another student had made what was deemed a credible threat to commit a violent act at one of our schools. Out of an abundance of caution all three schools were put on lockdown a little before 1:00pm. Since many PHS students were away at lunch, those students returning were told to leave and not plan to return until Monday. About an hour later local law enforcement determined the threat had been neutralized, and the lockdown was lifted.
Nobody was harmed. It was never believed that a weapon was on campus. In these situations there is always a desire for more information than you have, and we appreciate those desires and the stress not knowing causes. Please understand that information is controlled to keep people safe. The safety of our students is our number one priority.
A special thank you to the Pima Police, Thatcher Police, Safford Police and Graham County Sheriff's office for their diligent efforts to help us in this moment of crisis.

Arizona has published letter grades for schools and for the second year in a row Pima High School has received the highest mark! We are incredibly proud of our teachers and students who work hard and do their best. It's GREAT to be a ROUGHRIDER!

Dan Hinton School and the Brighter Day Preschool provide valuable services to Pima Schools students. This has been the case in the past, and will continue through the coming year. Rumors to the contrary, we don't see anything changing for the 2024-2025 school year.

Hocus Pocus - our teachers are magical. Happy Halloween!
